![]() And come on, you know you're excited to sleeve up Grumag Angler. I'd be curious to know how this build fares against Tron, but barring Tron and Amulet Bloom I can see this deck being very well-positioned in Modern. Meanwhile, Gnaw to the Bone provides a card that burn will usually need two Skullcracks to beat. I'd be surprised if Amulet Bloom wasn't at least one of Tautic's losses, but Abrupt Decay, Murderous Cut and Thoughtseize give this deck a lot of game against the more reasonable combo decks in the format. The deck's general resilience to Abrupt Decay is also not for nothing. Lingering Souls is strong, but 12 creatures that easily come back from the graveyard presents better longevity. That's likely Tautic's intention with this build. Arguably the best zombie fish ever printed.Ī lot of the Abzan lists present at the PT were trying very hard to break the Abzan mirror. I had heard buzz about Lotleth Troll, but Tautic had to dig pretty deep to find this zombie to enable his Gravecrawlers. My playgroup is pretty casual but is beginning to ramp up in competitiveness, so I'd like the deck to be a decently powerful one.Despite being a totally serviceable draft common, I don't think anybody was expecting to play against a Gurmag Angler in the Modern portion of the PT. I don't have a huge budget but I'd be willing to spare another hundred dollars or so if necessary. The deck is currently in a very rough and unfinished draft, but I need some help finding more cards to put in that will work well with the theme. The deck aims to control the game using Tasigur's ability to find answers while the graveyard fills up with creatures and lands, ultimately winning with a massive ]/]-esque creature or (my favorite) a loose combo with ], ], and a well timed ] with a packed graveyard to overwhelm opponents. So I've been trying to come up with a unique ] build and I've finally settled on a control deck based on self-mill.
